Dr. Frankie T. Jones, Sr., is President & CEO of Phoenix One Enterprise and Phoenix One Farms, Inc., located in Alamance County, NC, and Senior Pastor of Browns Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Gibsonville, NC. In the corporation he is responsible for the firm's operations, which focus on corporate social responsibility, strategic philanthropy, labor relations, crisis management, marketing, and community relations issues. While he is currently downsizing, he has provided consulting services to a myriad of high-profile corporations, institutions, and nonprofit organizations, including Rooms To Go Inc., General Motors, FDIC, Michelin North America, Sara Lee, Sprint, Lowe's Companies Inc., Freddie Mac, The American Legion, the Central Intelligence Agency, United Auto Workers, Inc., Wake Forest Medical School, and the National American Red Cross.
A native of Alamance County, North Carolina, Dr. Jones holds a Bachelor of Science degree, two master’s degrees and a doctorate degree and has completed post-doctoral studies at The Oxford Graduate School. His studies were completed at North Carolina A&T State University, Tuskegee University, Wayne State University, Duke University, Shaw University, and Virginia University-Lynchburg. He completed the Advanced Director’s Finance Program at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and most recently attended the Harvard University Center for African Studies.
Dr. Jones served as pastor of Beulah Baptist Church for 17 years in Danville, VA, prior to being installed in 2013 as the Senior Pastor at Brown’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. While at Brown’s Chapel, he has been instrumental in launching numerous outreach ministries in the local region. Currently he serves on the General Board of the Cedar Grove Baptist Association, the Executive Board of the Progressive National Baptist Convention, the Economic Development Ministry for the World Council of Churches, and the Doctrine Commission for the Baptist World Alliance. Since his tenure at Brown’s Chapel, three associate ministers have been ordained and one has assumed the pastorate at Providence Missionary Baptist Church in Providence, NC. Additionally, one of the major highlights during his pastorate at Brown’s Chapel was serving as a guest speaker to preach at Caesarea, Philippi in Israel in October 2022.
Dr. Jones is a retired United States Air Force Senior Officer with 20 years of service and 30 years of experience in corporate management. He has extensive experience in plans, programs, logistics, operations, human resource management, public relations, and communications. As a military officer, Colonel Jones is a highly decorated commander and graduate of numerous military leadership and management schools. Highlights of his military assignments include serving as commander of the 436th Headquarters Support Squadron, Dover AFB, and commander of the 3400th Technical Training Group, Keesler AFB, the largest and most diversified technical training organization in the Department of Defense, where he was responsible for the annual personnel training requirements of 11,000 men and women.
A high point of his distinguished career included a special assignment as Senior Executive Officer of the 76th Airlift Division—Andrews AFB, which has responsibility for Air Force One and US Presidential Airlift Support. While assigned to the Pentagon, he was director of USAF family-related matters and orchestrated the development and establishment of 123 family support centers on Air Force installations throughout the free world. During his Air Force career, Colonel Jones was named Most Outstanding Young Officer in US Air Forces Europe in 1974, Most Outstanding Air Force Personnel Staff Officer of the Year while serving at the Pentagon in 1988, and Commander of the Year for the Air Training Command in 1990. While selected for advancement in grade, he instead opted to attend the Duke University School of Divinity as a Duke Presidential Scholar.
Dr. Jones has spent over a decade engaged in pioneering efforts on behalf of global corporations in South Africa and Nigeria as part of a major effort to promote corporate goodwill and community development. He assisted in spearheading an effort to advance literacy through the promotion and development of an international book and education resource project, resulting in over five million books and numerous resource libraries being established in rural and remote townships throughout the nine provinces of South Africa. He has personally conferred with international leaders, including Presidents Mandela, Jacob Zuma, Dr. Kenneth Kaunda, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan and Bishop Desmond Tutu.
Dr. Jones has served or continues to serve on various boards, including the Duke Energy Advisory Corporate Board, the NC Tobacco Trust Fund Commission, the Wake Forest University School of Divinity Board of Visitors, the Lincoln University Board of Visitors and the Tougaloo College Board of Trustees. He is a former corporate board member of the Piedmont Natural Gas Corporation. Additionally, he is currently Chairman of the PNBC International Disaster Response and Relief Program. Dr. Jones is a member of Sigma Pi Phi Boule’ and a life member of the NAACP, a life member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. and a 33rd Degree Mason of Prince Hall Freemasonry. He and his wife, Alease, a retired educator, reside on Phoenix One Farms in Alamance County, North Carolina. They have two sons, Frankie, Jr. (Ashley) and Anthony (Crystal), who are corporate attorneys. He is the proud grandfather of Harrison and Reagan Elizabeth.
